Man, if I got rid of internet at home, that would mean I would Have to go into the office to use internet at work. I’d spend more on a bus pass than I would on internet at home, and then traveling to work... screw that.

HughesNet — everything I’ve ever heard is it’s like dialup speeds for Fiber Optic prices

100% Correct. I was paying around $120 a month for a long time for data capped bullshit internet and my wife called to cancel it about 5 months ago and the bastards had the nerve to say, “oh we can upgrade you to faster internet with our new satellite.” You mean you asshole’s weren’t going to tell us this? We upgraded and it’s really no better. We had enough and it took an hour and a half to get them to cancel it. $190 early cancellation fee worth it.

So then, what’s the plan for home internet now?

We bought a 4G signal booster. We live in the country in a dead zone. We can make and receive calls easily now and if we absolutely have to, we can access the webs.

That’ll work nicely. Guessing that aside from light browsing and whatnot, your internet usage isn’t that heavy then.
